Where is Hollywood

 A short informational book, by Dina Anastasio “Where Is Hollywood” tells about the story of Hollywood’s beginning. To begin Hollywood was started by a couple in hopes of moving south out of mid california. They found the perfect place to start a town. So they did. They named it Hollywood after themselves. Soon all the famous producers started to move down south. The producers said that Hollywood was the perfect scenery in order to make movies. It had mountains, hills, plateaus, plains, ect. Finally, movies became very popular so everybody moved down to Hollywood making it one of the most populated cities in America at the time.

I loved this book!! When reading this book you can learn a lot about Hollywood. First, I had some Questions. One of my questions was why did the couple start the town? The text said they were moving down there to have more room for farming. So how did it eventually become a town? I also learned a lot of new facts about Hollywood. Like, that the oscar award was named after a very famous academy winner’s uncle by the name of Uncle Oscar. Aswell, I learned that until 1927 there were no movies with sound. And when they finally got sound into the movies they named them talkies. As you can see I loved this book and learned a lot about Hollywood.
