The Man In The Red Bandana

    The Man In the Red Banda, a short picture book, by Hornor Crowther Fagan, describes the heroic acts of one man on 9/11/2001. The main character by the name of Welles worked in the WTC when a United flight crashed into his building. Welles was a volunteer firefighter so he wanted to help all the people he could. However, the stairs were filled with smoke. He climbed up and down the stairs again and again to help as many people as possible. In the end on his third way up the stairs, the building collapsed. 

    The Man In the Red Bandana was an excellent book and I had a few thoughts. To start, Welles the main character had some great traits. Kind, responsible, and determined but most important he was brave. Clearly, this was a great book that helped me understand the tragic events of 9/11/2001.
